Dues and Other Fees

Woodson Rowing is not financially supported by Fairfax County Public Schools. Our Booster Club works diligently to keep student cost to a minimum. Membership dues and fundraising cover all of the team’s costs. It is important that our registration plan protects the finances of the team so that there are adequate resources available to cover our day-to-day and annual expenses.

Online Registration:

Registration for the 2023-24 season is closed. Stay tuned for next year!

Uniforms and Crew Gear:

The Uniform Store is now closed, however athletes should contact the Woodson Crew Sportswear and Uniform chair at [email protected] if they still need a uniform. Athletes are required to purchase the Unisuit and Cold Weather Training Top. Unis and tops are gender-specific, so make sure you order the correct gender uni and top for your rower. Uniforms are traditionally delivered to the Uniform/Spirit Wear Chair and distributed upon arrival.

2023-2024 Season Basic Dues:

New Rower – $850
Returning Rower – $1000
Activity fee for regatta-eve and day-of-regatta meals – $150

There is a $50 discount for registration completed before December 15.

Payment Types:

We will only accept payment by PayPal or credit card via PayPal through the registration website. Credit card fees will be paid by the Association.

Travel regatta fees, service requirement penalties, and bus transportation fees will also be paid by credit card. Payment for uniforms and crew gear will be made directly to the respective vendors. Families with extenuating financial circumstances should contact the Association President to arrange a delayed payment schedule. In addition, limited scholarship funds may be available. All requests will be held in the strictest confidence.

Additional Fees for reference, not confirmed for 2024-25:

  • Chartered Practice Bus* ~$530 (may opt out)
  • Stotesbury Cup Regatta ~$550
  • SRAA Nationals ~$425 if boat qualifies
  • Uniforms ~$125

*Chartered Practice Bus:

During the Spring Racing Season, if there is a minimum number of athletes who can make it financial viable, the Woodson Crew Booster Association will charter weekday bus transportation from/to Woodson High School for a fee as noted above. Families using the chartered bus to and from on-the-water practice will be required to share in the daily bus chaperone duties. Some parents/guardians and student-athletes arrange their own transportation and/or carpools. If parents/guardians wish to make alternative arrangements, you may opt out of the weekday chartered bus and, therefore, will have that fee waived. Away regatta fees include chartered bus transportation for student-athletes unless noted otherwise in the “Regattas” section of the handbook.

NOTE: Additional Fees are approximate based on historical and projected costs.

Penalties: Returning student-athlete withdrawal request during first two weeks of on-the-water practice $300
